A Fallen Brother

Usually, when covering things within the Forza community, we choose to provide news and information on happenings with more optimistic and positive vibes. However, when something, such as the news I have received, hits so close to home, I feel the need to let it be known. Wednesday afternoon, a O9K Deegan aka DRFR Norcal was involved in a car accident and died shortly thereafter. Those who knew him, such as myself, knew that he was a great guy on and off of the Forza tracks. I am glad to have met such a man and to have had the chance to be on a team with him.

Top Secret S15 with a tune from O9K Deegan/DRFR Norcal. My small tribute to him.

I am going to keep this short as I tend to ramble, but I ask that everyone to take with them one thing from reading this which I learned from Deegan, and that is to not sweat the small stuff. Life is too short to hold onto the little things that don’t matter. I also ask that those who did know him to not post anything personal about him nor the details of his passing in respect for our fallen brother.

RIP Deegan.

Driver Spotlight >> DMI Domo Interview

What’s up my felow forzahunters, Carbon here comin’ at you guys with an interview with DMI Domo.  He is a VFD driver coming up in the ranks and he’s deffinetly someone to look out for.  Please Rate and Comment!!!

What’s goin’ on Domo, thanks for joining us!  Alright, you are the first of a few up-in-coming drivers that we are featuring during the final F3 FD Season.  With that being said, tell those who don’t know you who ya are, where you’re from, and a few things about yourself.

My name is Jeff or Domo i live in Jacksonville,Florida. Im 18 own a 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution 8.5. Been playing forza scene the middle of F2. Have been a wheel drifter for about 3 months & and member of DMI and Co-Owner of Signature Designs.

So the final VFD season is underway.  How are you doing so far this season?  How many top 32’s,16’s,8’s….etc have you made in the short 3 rounds so far?
Doing ok i have made it in the top 32 for round 1 and round 2.But so far round 3 has been my best i got to the Great 8 but sadly had to go to work so i couldn’t do my battle against
Impactz.

Awesome!  Well this past round at Palm Beach International Raceway, you seemed to have a great performance!  You knocked out the reigning champ 2 rounds in a row, SCS Demon.  How did that feel to beat him?
It felt good to beat demon. Of what i found out in this round it isnt all about speed most of the time it is how you drive the car. It was a good battle i hope to see him in round 4 and maybe even battle him in vfd in f4.

How do you plan to keep up this streak of great driving?
Just to drive as hard as i can and push the car to its limits.

Your car has seemed to change from round 2 to round 3.  Tell us, what car do you drive, and how do you like the car?
For round 3 i went with a Mazda Rx-7 fc 386hp. I like the car it’s small light weight made to pull alot of angle.

Do you plan on changing it anytime soon?
Yes i might change up cars for next round because the fc is made for short tracks if round 4 is long i will have to change out cars and wait for a shorter track to bring back out the fc .

Changing the convo up a little bit, as you know F4 will be debuting very soon.  Will we see you competing in F4 VFD?
Yup sure will i cant wait to see what cars will be there. Most likely in f4 i will be driving something low & slow for VFD.

I know we can’t really say for sure what new cars we will see for the drifting aspects of the game, but in your eyes what would you like to see the most?
I would like to see eather a Scion Ft-s Or a 2012 Scion tc .

Finally do you have anyone you would like to shout out to?
Ya i would like to shout out to DMI,Team Fatlace for BDC and Radio DL for keeping the DL up to date on whats happing .

Well Domo, it’s been great to have you here.  Thank you so much for sitting down and doing this interview.  Hope to see you very soon in the 4th round of VFD at Wall speedway!

King of the Mountain Tournament

Heard through the grapevine that our very own HRZ CarbonFX has decided to throw a tournament named “King of the Mountain.” Things are still in development, but I heard that SCS Demon is in on it as well, which makes me feel that this will be one hell of a tournament. As usual we’ll be more than happy to cover this event. We’ll keep you posted as the news unfolds!

Car Feature> Plankton’s Daily

Well, It’s Plank here. I took my daily Stang out for a drive at the Sunset Open Track day. I got a chance to test the cars’ limits, and it reached a speed that I’ve never really hit before. Mustangs have always been somewhat of my favorite cars, although I’m not a fan of Ford.

My Mustang has always been some what of basic car, but under the hood, I’ve done a few things that you would find common in mustangs. I kept the Ford Camshaft as I love the low roar it provides. I’ve got a sweet set of springs and dampers that gave the car that stance I was looking for.

My friend, Impulse, owned a Chevy ZR1 that had a sweet set of Speedline 2014’s and he got a new set of TDR Pro Race 1’s and he was generous enough to give me the wheels I currently have. Kinda a brushed, steel look to them, huh?

I felt the need to do this blog as I wanted to show the readers that I do more than sit behind this keyboard when doing something involving cars. I love cars and they are my passion, but I also love being behind the wheel of one. Especially, this badboy.

Car Feature | Hold the Rice

Anyone who is a car enthusiast knows the difference between a tuner and a ricer. They also know which cars, when upgraded, can easily fit into each category. The Civic is no different. The Honda Civic can very easily be made into a ricer and it is very difficult to step into the domain of a tuner without adding a little rice.

Enter DriftFX Irish’s Honda Civic EM1. This car shatters any notion that it would have any rice on it at all. Looking at this car you would think that it would just be a daily driver and attend Honda meets on weekends. But what you wouldn’t expect…

…is that this car drifts! That’s right, this EM1 is a drifter. And not one of those ricey drifters where they put trays under the rear wheels. No, this Civic has a full RWD swap, using parts from an S2000. There aren’t many cars like this one out there.

For the days that he does take it to meets, or maybe just whenever he feels like it, he lowers this bad boy and gives it some nasty stance! As clean as this car is, I’m really surprised that there isn’t a sticker bombed lip. Maybe that’s in the works, and if so, we’d love to contribute to it!

Looks to me like he had a confrontation with the wall…and the wall won.

If you ever see Irish out there with this car, make sure you snap as many pictures as you can. You only get a few chances in life to see extremely remarkable gems like this Civic.

Car Feature> AmpD Alvar’s Lexus

We hit up the Iberian Test track day, and we spotted two particular drivers that we straight gettin’ it around the corners. The track day was meant for drifters, but these two fellas took full advantange of the minute track time.

Newly accepted in AmpD, Alvar has high hopes to get this car dialed in, in time for the next VFD outing at ‘The Wall’. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.

TTL MADDOG in the Shelby, but he knows what they are doing behind the wheel of this classic beast. Looks quite mint , also.

We at Forzahunters definitely hope to see more of this guy, and good luck with what ever competition you decide to take the car in!

Event>VIP Hotness™ Meet | Pt. 1

VIP has always been a great scene to get into if you don’t have the pocket to build yourself a drift car. Building a VIP car requires money for visual modifications and that’s it. No HKS exhaust, no supercharged LS1, no nothing. Just that little weekly check you get can get you one of the best looking machines on the street.

There was a pretty nice turn-out of cars along with a nice variety. The drivers were quite friendly and it was nice to see some new and old faces. Newlife was there and he drove his [INSERT] out the meet. It looked quite stunning and even though it was a little higher priced than some of the other cars, it still sported the VIP look well. TGF FatCat also drove his Jaguar to the showcase, but opposite of Newlifes’ Jag, he had a sweet two-tone paint action going on. He also had a new spring kit adjusted onto his vehicle so he had a pretty stellar stance on his foreign devil. Mista Steezy showed up in his beautiful Mercedes. He had a pretty nice combo going on with a nice set of wheels to give his car a very sweet VIP feel to it. He is known for his stellar kit work to the more expensive side of the automotive industry. Unfortunately, I was able to get a close look at it as I was experiencing DLC issues. Sorry, Steez.

DMI Domo came out to the party in his Infiniti G35 Coupe. This coupe had a sweet base metallic added to it with a quite stanced set of chrome wheels. TDK Gypsy drove his low riding Caddy and definitely had a car that you would see with this kind of customization out on the street. He showed up, and for sure showed’ out. Dr. SlyMan is not the ost known fella around the DL, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the means to build a sweet ride. He created a machine that you definitely wouldn’t see driving down the road everyday. Well..maybe Hollywood Blvd, but his Bentley Continental was probably the highest priced car out at the showcase. And lastly, we had PurpleNarwall drive out and let us view his personal monster. He had been keeping this Audi closed up for quite some time now, and he chose that reveling it at a FH meet was a proper thing to do. His S5 was laced down with a nice metallic blue paint, and it looked magnificent.

The idea of hosting a VIP Hotness Meet arose from in event of all of these try-hard tournaments, there needs to be some relief. And how can you get any more relief than pulling out one of your slammed-beautys’ and taking them for a spin around a lovely track?

…More coming in Part 2.

-Plank.

VFD | The Journey is over

Open door. sit in bucket seat. strap on seat belt. turn the ignition. flip the circuit breakers. check in with spotter. watch the takeoff light. kick ass.

That was the sequence in which AoM Impactz did things yesterday afternoon. He definitely brought his best as his danced all the way to the top podium! His R32 performed as he wanted it to, and I think it is quite safe to say he was proud of the way it stood the ultimate test.

The entire competition was definitely epic. Starting with the Top 32, drivers were hitting the unfamiliar course with a vengeance. Though some were experiencing some troubles with their cars, drivers made the audience cheer. So, just big ups to the fellas in the chat stream. Also, thanks to SCS Spitsy for running the livestream for all of us to see. And of course, the main man and his right-hand man, PND Hitsuguya and DMI Acex.

Impactz’ R32 was prepped for the fight early and we even saw him strap up and take a few hot laps down a closed street a few times. He definitely did all he could to get this car in it’s best form and run it at it hardest.

His battle with LightningHiro was forsure the highlight of his run. Their backwards entries made the crowd go wild. His attitude when he stepped out of the car, was completely different from when he sat in the beautiful beast. Hiro almost knocked the victor off, even though he lost, Hiro was no where near mad about his run for the title today.

Another driver who impressed a couple people is Fussion. He was not the favorite among the people as he was just another driver driving a Ford Mustang. He left the track with a 3rd place finish and I am quite sure that he is proud of himself, Falken, and his Stang.

Of course, we have to highlight our own drivers Plankton and CarbonFX. Both of these guys pushed their cars to the limit and when I mean THE limit, let’s just say Plankton left the track with a broken axle after hitting a gator on the outside clipping zone after he threw his car out wide.

Carbon’s Yokohama Stang was just downright nasty. He didn’t quite perform his upmost as his car was having difficulties, but he definitely put his car to the level where he wasn’t leaving anything left out on the track. Both these Forzahunters reppers represented, and we are quite proud of the outcome, and hopefully we can see more drivers repping the FH logo on their vehicles.

Some of the underdog drivers came with heat also. Here is Ryda’s BMW that he brought to the show. May not have did the best he could, but I think the experience was good for the fella to get exposed to a new kind of competition.

Demon was out there, but his visit was cut short as he lost in the Top 32 to Domo who shocked everyone as he over powered the VFD 2-time victor.

For now, that’s all. But we’ll be back with more in a later post. Be prepared as the next round has already been announced and promised. We’re heading to The Wall, and no one is safe. Till’ then, see ya!

-Plankton.

Car Feature | Devos’ Nissan S15 & Rx7 FC

We sent a photographer over to Devos’ Paint Garage to see if we could get any shots of his personal rides. Devos is known for rocking nothing but the best looking cars around. He paints them all himself, and he definitely does a great job.

First, we got a chance to see him behind the wheel of his Bee-R S15. Now, we know you have see the R32 Bee-R, but Devos incorporated the scheme onto a Nissan S15, and trust me, it looks great!

Next, he pulled his Team DFR Rx7 FC out of the garage to let us get a peek of the vehicle. He has been working on this car for quite some time now, and it looks to be finally finished. Great job, Devos.
